Rejuvenating Prairies and Native Grasses
From the Cross Timber Prairies to the Post Oak Savannas to the Gulf Coastal Plains - We are working near you!
The prairie is a most fascinating biozome with its constant change. Take an overgrazed, abused area of land and then augment and/or feed the sleeping soil biology so everything is alive! Watch what grows and pops up in accord with seasons, temperature, and moisture. The large grasses (little bluestem, big bluestem, Indian grass, switchgrass) may hold on from season to season and from year to year. But the smaller grasses - sideoats, wildryes, dropseeds, panicums - come and go often. As do the wonderful wildflowers. Color, texture, height, density all impact the beauty of the prairie. On these larger lands our technique and speciality is to use the existing seed bank, rejuvenate and use the underground soil organisms to wake up the old grasses and watch mother nature bring back the prairie. With this technique we don't burn, plow, disk, plant, herbicide or shred. Let's see some results of what happens when we applied our technique with existing grasslands.

The North Texas Plains - Coming Alive with Activity |
To stimulate the wildflowers, apply bio-stimulation in the late fall. You will still get good native grass in the spring time. If you don't want the wildflowers, apply bio-augmentation in the late fall.

Work in The Post Oak Savannas |
Great expanses of wildflowers bloom on rolling hill after rolling hill in the spring time. The plant diversity is outstanding! This area of Texas has a mixture of clay and sand to sandy loam soil. We have found this to be some of the best grazing in the state. Maybe 'tough' pastures would be better description. Year after year the grass somehow manages to store enough energy to make its way up the following year. |
